Mountaineering Collection Archiving
A nationally significant private collection of mountaineering and climbing memorabilia is in the process of being catalogued and has now been transferred to a trust to enable public access in the future to both an on-line catalogue and to some of the artefacts themselves at the West Highland museum and in other displays.
The artefacts and equipment range from a SNO-TRAK mountain rescue vehicle to Tom Patey’s Piton Hammer.
This project is now well underway and we expect the website to be up and running in autumn 2009.
