Book of Remembrance

This Book of Remembrance has been created for those who wish to commemorate their relatives or friends on Ben Nevis. It offers an opportunity for the bereaved to create an unobtrusive memorial in keeping with the mountain ethos of “leave no trace”. It was set up originally as an alternative form of memorial for the various plaques which had been left on the summit of the mountain.

Each entry is comprised of three parts - a commemorative plaque, a page of additional information, and a location on a view of Ben Nevis.

Any monetary donations received will be used to help maintain this website and to support the ongoing work of The Nevis Partnership. All donations will be acknowledged in writing or via E mail.

To add a plaque to the virtual Book of Remembrance, click on the button below. You can personalise your plaque by choosing from a variety of styles and finishes. You will need to provide an image to go on your plaque. This must not be greater than 100kb in size. A page of further information and two additional images can be included if required. You can then place your plaque at a particular location on one of several different views of the mountain.

Finally, you will be given the opportunity to make a donation to Nevis Partnership, before submitting your finished plaque for approval. You will be sent an automated email shortly after this that contains your own username and password. These will allow you to login and amend the details on your plaque at a later date if you wish. Due to our moderation process, it may take up to 5 days before you can view your entry.
